Located in an abandoned warehouse in Lincoln Heights is a new, independently run art exhibition by Hong Kong-based Simon Birch entitled 14th Factory. The multiple room exhibition is the ultimate immersive sensory experience, with each room presenting a completely unique performance for visitors to engage with. From the eerie, pitch black room housing a hypnotic, swirling video sequence of movements, all performed by an unknown male figure, to the glowing white sterile bedroom, a set replica from the film “2001: A Space Odyssey”; each room presents the unexpected. The location houses works by Birch and 20 creative collaborators, with 14 interlinked spaces comprised of video, installation, sculpture, paintings and performance. The interactive environment is meant to inspire conversation and challenge viewer’s perceptions of the current political climate.
“14th Factory” is showing in Los Angeles until June.
