New York Fashion Week sets the tone for fashion month, so when you are invited back to the iconic city for a third season, it’s definitely something to give you the feels. This September was different than last year because of the incredibly cool weather, allowing me to wear A/W 17-18 collections without breaking into an unglamorous sweat. I decided to start off the week wearing a feathery fringe coat from Madiyah Al Sharqi, an Emirati designer you may remember from Fashion Forward (FFWD) Dubai in March. The designer graciously dressed me again this season alongside Amal Al Raisi, making for an iconic NYFW debut dressed in two female and Middle Eastern powerhouse labels. I paired the wide-sleeved Al Sharqi coat with Al Raisi’s wide-legged ivory palazzo pants and a ruffled blouse to compliment the bounce in both designer pieces. Cult Gaia’s bamboo bag was the perfect piece to top off an outfit marked by flow, texture and dramatic silhouettes.
Stay tuned to see what I wore the rest of NYFW!
